What exactly is the

Trinity Certificate TESOL?

The Trinity Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, level 5, is a preliminary qualification designed for candidates who have little or no experience of teaching English as a second or foreign language. It will enable you to teach English in the private sector in the UK and abroad and is fully recognised by the British Council.

Within our course here at Open Doors, we include an optional 'Top up' module of four hours and an additional assignment, which will provide you with a threshold license to teach in public sector adult education in the UK - The Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) award. The PTLLS certificate will allow you teach in government funded adult education centres such as Colleges of Further Education and voluntary and Community sector organisations. As a stand alone this course is normally 30 hours at a cost of £350. We are happy to be able to offer it as part of our certificate TESOL in order to widen your employment options while also being able to give you a broader experience and deeper knowledge base.

For a more detailed description of the course and what it involves, please download the handbook at the bottom of the page. If you are interested in applying please download and complete the application form and return it in the post.
